See us at work

After spending generations learning our craft and years training staff to keep that knowledge alive, we can teach a lucky few to try for themselves at one of our select events. It is an opportunity to get hands on and chat with us about our passion and why we do what we do. This can be done at open days in our workshop or at events around the world.

It is also an opportunity to see our sister brand, Crown Northampton. Made-to-order sneakers also constructed from start to finish in our Northampton factory.

Northampton Show Room Events and Tours

If you’re passing through Northampton and you would like to visit for a tea or coffee, please give us a call on +44 1604 267 127 to make sure we can fit you in the diary. We are open for guests between 10am – 3pm Mon to Friday. You will get a chance to observe how boots and shoes were made 150 years ago by our hand makers, free of charge!

Tours

A tour for up to six people can be arranged, you will get a chance to chat with the makers and observe these old techniques up-close. We will also arrange for one of our experts to talk you through the processes and what makes the E.Woodford ethos so special.

The tours last 2 hours and are limited so please phone  +44 1604 267 127 to book in for a price of £250.

Workshop

Our Workshop is a unique chance for you to actually have a go at making! Our craftsmen will demonstrate and guide you through a number of processes. It is the only true way to understand how hard this craft is and see how amazing the required materials and skills are.

As we are a busy working factory, places are extremely limited, please call on +44 1604 267 127 to book. If you are planning to fit it into a trip, we will do our best to accommodate you, the more notice you can give us the better! (£200 an hour for 2 people)

How to find us

85-86 Bunting road, Northampton, NN2 6EE If arriving by train we are a 5 min taxi ride from the station. If by car, a parking space will be allotted to you on our factory forecourt. When booking, we will provide you with all the required information. Please be advised, we are a working factory in an industrial area amongst other working units, once inside you will soon be transported back in time!

Overseas Events

Overseas events are attended by E.Woodford throughout the year. It is a chance for people to get up close, be measured up, learn about us and the craft. A select few will be given the opportunity to give hand welting a try. Events will be updated regularly, please join our mailing list for the most up to date announcements.
